Has Google Divorced Motorola, Perhaps!

According to CNET, The PC maker Lenovo, which has struggled for smart phone success outside China, gets an established global brand, while Google unloads a burden on its balance sheet and a source of tension.  Google is unloading Motorola Mobility onto Chinese PC maker Lenovo.
Google has confirmed that it has sold Motorola for $2.91 billion, consisting of $660 million in cash and $750 million in Lenovo shares, with the remaining $1.5 billion paid in the form of a three-year promissory note. Reuters reporters broke this story in earlier about this deal.
Lenovo gets the Motorola brand, as well as its portfolio of devices, including the Moto X and Moto G. In addition, it will also receive more than 2,000 patent assets, while Google will retain control of a majority of the patents it originally obtained when it acquired Motorola several years ago.
A deal instantly gives Lenovo, which has a thriving smartphone business in China but few other places, an established global brand. Google, meanwhile, will shed a business that has continually dragged down its profits.
In a previous story, it was leaked that something was a foot as I mentioned the connection of the two love bird in the story entitled " Technology and the Barney Fife(s)" in our whistler blog. The Google glass giant has no use for the hand held carrier device as they try to push the new costly glass product on the average, about $1500 not including a prescription modification for those without 20/20. They purchased Motorola, to protect them against patent infringements against Apple.
Rumor has it that they purchased the one time popular company for it patent protection rights in warding off lawsuits. However, in a twist of things, much of the legal fighting as gone on between Apple and Samsung, with Google only marginally related. That story covered a multi-mega-Monkey Ball gazillion dollar civil action, launched by the Big Red One against Sung.  (See this story, Gadget Legal News Archive). Eventually, the G-men was able to connect their 1's to Sungs 0's and make some digital love, with the signing of a new Google and Samsung Cross-licensing pact.
Why sell it to Lenovo. Of course, the China mega-hardware giant of Asia, whom has been making tremendous strides with their multi-verse platforms from the tablet, the notepad, laptops and the mega tablet with the software of windows 8 (DOUGH $#%#, windows 8) Perhaps a trip to Hong Kong maybe in the workings, I could pick up the new IPad, Google Glass and a Samsung tablet all for the low priced and international law protected guarantee. Unless Interpol decides to, perhaps, stop with the cigarettes bust and focus on copyright infringement black market sales of products that force a price hike in the new technology.
BTW, it forces people to pay extra at the underground hot swap meet,  of the, around the corner van sales of urban America. The cost of glasses for $1500 for a video/voice command device.  I am sure, Biff, the area bully won't punch me in the scrotum and snatch it off my face. Crap, their goes my $1500! Pardon me, a flashback to the 80's and the gold chain snatching. As it relates to the latest hijack move performed by law enforcement in our latest story mentioned above, about Deputy Barney Fife. Even LEO's want part of the action.

To Live on Mars, Say What!

According to a report from space.com, Mars One announced Monday (Dec. 30) that it has picked 1,058 aspiring spaceflyers to move on to the next round in its search for the first humans to live and die on the Red Planet. The Netherlands-based nonprofit wants to start launching groups of four on a one-way trips to Mars by 2023, with the long-term goal of creating the first permanent settlement on Mars.

It was reported that the selected people for this space exploration into the abyss, will have to undergo years of similation training and testing. Each person must undergo a medical screening which includes a psychological profile to ensure cohabitation and cooperation in the hopes for a future a sustained human colony

Peanut Gallery.....
CREEPY! So, the idea of space exploration for a one way trip to an uncharted planet has been compared to the old idealogy of a flat world. Yes, exploration proved that theory and perhaps these individuals will be the historical heroes. Nonetheless, the old pilgrams already had charted maps as a guide into the search for the land. Folks from this gallery suggest testing the loving quarters on the moon close to Earth; therefore, if a problem becomes unfixable. The repair dude/dame will arrive from the space station within a few hours vesus a care package in about thirty years. Of course, once the government hire (trick) an engineer to board the one way flight.
